The last remaining “Bridge Pier” located on East Bay at the entrance to the New Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge was the perfect setting for the Gateway Charleston Project. The worn concrete facets make for a beautiful, architectural and unique canvas for honoring the historical colors of Charleston.  There is a strong welcoming message to motorists and pedestrians for a nod to the past and a bow to the future.

The term “making and entrance” may be applied in its literal sense to Weinberg’s work. His distinctive style is evident in the many entrances he has created for real estate developers and homeowners. His combination of a strong sense of color, plus the practical application of such color, makes his designs commercially desirable.

Weinberg’s ability to create entrances has led to his Gateway America projects. Several gateways to cities are already completed…Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles to name a few…. all colorful, all enthusiastically received, all done with minimal cost and maximum cooperation. His belief that color and environment can alter urban design has turned what could be negative elements of a city – bridges, tunnels, water towers – into positives.
